New video tutorial Walking the Path

My new video is ready and available on my YouTube channel! 🙂 In this art journal tutorial I am showing how I created the mixed media portrait called Walking the Path, that I posted a few days ago.

This video is my entry for the #lovesummerart Art Video Festival, an exciting event which is happening right now until July 20th on YouTube! Over 200 YouTube creators who make arts and crafts videos are already participating, and this number is still growing.

I had it on my list for quite a while to make another YouTube video, so I thought this was the perfect occasion!

Supplies I used in this video

For the portrait that you see me creating in this video, I have used the following supplies:

  • Strathmore Mixed Media Visual Journal: this journal is 22.9 x 30.5 cm (9 x 12 inch) and has 190 gsm (90 lb.) paper. It is spiral bound, which I wouldn’t recommend for making spreads but for a single page I like it because you can fold the book completely over.
  • Gesso (I am using Golden)
  • Pastel pencils in light and dark brown, brick red, and white (I am using Derwent)
  • White Conté crayon
  • Acrylic paint in the colors blue, titan buff, titanium white and raw umber (I am using Golden)
  • Soft pastels in various colors (I am using Schmincke and Unison)
  • Oil paint stick in antique white (I am using Sennelier)
