I’ve been working on this new painting in the “Beyond the Edges” series and today I feel it’s finished. With this one I’ve really been focusing on texture and movement, working with big bold brush strokes and trying to keep it loose and free.
I felt that I had become a bit tight in an earlier version of this same subject, so I painted her again and loved working this way. So if you want to see what this painting is about, click on the image and zoom in as close as possible to see all the beautiful texture… ❤️
The overall color is a deep umber brown. I tried to get the photo as close to the real painting as possible, but even though on my laptop it looks accurate, on my tablet it’s much more reddish (which actually looks nice too!).
Beyond the Edges – acrylic paint on wood panel, 40×50 cm (16×20 inches).
Hi Julie,
I just love Beyond the Edges. Will you be offering this as a lesson / course that I can
purchase on line ?
Thanks,
Kate
Thanks for your comment Kate, great to hear that you love the Beyond the Edges series!
I haven’t yet created an online class for this technique, but it’s on my list. Right now I don’t have a timeline for it, but I’ll definitely share on social media and through my newsletter if and when it’s available. 🙂
