What did I learn in Drawing in the Soul? I have had many different classes on drawing a face, but this one spoke to me the most. I learned to really look at line and how much it can change a face. Line is critical. Then value, again equally important to catch the essence of the portrait. How easy it is to not see what is there, when you are focusing on line. I loved learning about glazing techniques, I had never done that before.

What was outstanding to me though was the feedback. This is where I learned the most, to see other students’ work. I would first try to figure out what was wrong, then read Juna’s input. That allowed me to grow as a student. Often I would get it, but sometimes I didn’t.

Thank you so much Juna for all that you put into the classes and it was amazing to see all your students grow online. I did sign up for your two other classes and can’t wait!

Drawing in the Soul is the best art course I have ever taken. It covers the main art concepts: value, line, colour and teaches many techniques in several media, as well as demonstrating facial proportions. Juna is a great teacher, is very encouraging and her feedback is extremely detailed and constructive. I have learned so much and have noticed that the other students in this group have improved markedly since their first posts. I would definitely recommend Drawing in the Soul to both beginners and experienced artists alike.

I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to take this course, Drawing in the Soul. In the twelve weeks I have learned so much. It flew by. At the beginning I couldn’t even draw a portrait with difficulty. Now when I see my results how everything got better from week to week. Astonishing. It is great fun all the different techniques you learn to make your portrait more active. There is certainly something for everyone’s taste. This course is highly recommended. Thank you Juna.

I highly recommend Juna’s course Drawing in the Soul. I learned a lot about techniques and supplies (charcoal, pastel, acrylic paint, oil sticks, oil pastels) and was gently pushed out of my comfort zone. I had no idea I would be able to make so many beautiful faces. The teaching process is perfectly timed and all the processes are duly explained. The feedback is really effective and the Facebook group is kind and fun. Really worthy, this is the best thing I ever did. Each week was a surprise, never boring, and nothing was impossible – even for beginners.

Drawing in the Soul is the most important class I’ve taken so far in my art journey. I had no idea how to draw, but I knew instinctually if I was going to break rules by being an expressive artist, that I first needed to learn the rules.

I’ve referred back to these lessons many times, to add to my knowledge base. Juna designed a course scales above the typical standard “watch me”-structure that most art teachers do. Her interactions are more than glib social media responses: she goes under that superficiality and targets her comments on what you need to work on.

Faces are complex, you will work on them for years. Juna’s is the best foundational course you can take. There’s more packed into these twelve weeks than in a year-long course. If you want to go to the next level with your art, you have to put in the effort. Just do it!

Drawing in the Soul is a very complete course, offering not only practical exercises but also a lot of theoretical knowledge. That makes me understand what I am doing. Juna generously shares her knowledge and without restraint – I experienced that as very special. Her feedback on my work is meticulous, constructive and very educational. Sometimes she asks questions so that I have to think for myself, which means that I learn to look better at my own work. This is my second course with Juna, and it offers so much value for money. I will definitely continue doing her classes.

I took the course Drawing in the Soul as I loved the style of the drawings advertising this course. I wasn’t sure on what to expect but I took the plunge and I am so grateful that I did. The quality of videos as well as the layout of the course is outstanding. Juna’s teaching style is light hearted, calming and reassuring. Her feedback on your own work and on other people’s is extremely helpful, as I found that sometimes you see the problem but not how to fix it and Juna shows you how sometimes small changes can have big results. This is an amazing course and is for anyone wanting to learn the fundamentals of portraiture while being introduced to variety of art supplies and techniques.

Drawing in the Soul was the most amazing class I have taken. When I did the very first exercise I was just so surprised that I actually did this. In each part of each module I learned about the different profiles, the use of color, line, values and so much more. Reading the feedback from my own projects and those of the other students was the most positive and helpful learning tool. I would recommend this class to all my friends. If you are going to take a class, put this one at the top of the list.

I was drawn to Juna’s drawing style. That’s why I signed up for Drawing in the Soul. I didn’t know what to expect from it. But it was everything I had hoped for and more. She is an excellent teacher. You immediately see that a lot of time has been devoted to making the course accessible to everyone. Beautiful and clear videos about how she handles every project. In addition, there are also the e-books and the reference material. She also takes plenty of time to give you good feedback, everything has been handled very professionally.

I already had some experience with drawing a portrait, but she taught me a very different approach to drawing and painting a portrait. This was a new challenge for me. I am very satisfied with the course and I have learned a lot. One of the many things I’ve learned is that when your portrait comes in the ugly stage (everyone who followed the course knows what I mean) you mustn’t give up and trust that it’s going to be alright. And trust me it does. What I also like about this course is how everyone has a different approach to the project, you can also learn a lot from each other.

I recommend this course to anyone who wants to break free from normal portrait drawing and wants to learn a different style of drawing and painting.

Drawing in the Soul with Juna Biagioni was a truly wonderfull class, one of the best on line courses I have done. Juna shares her extensive knowledge and new techniques for creating portraits every week to build your skills base, focusing on mapping out portraits, and using value, line work, contrast and saturation with colour to produce soul in your drawings and paintings. She also offers personal, detailed critique of each project which was invaluable, demonstrating how small corrections can really improve your work and help you to ‘see’ your subject better. I could see definite growth in my art throughout the course and I will incorporate all the new techniques I learned from this course going forward. I highly recommend this course. I am sure artists of all levels will benefit from Juna’s teaching. I will definitely do more courses with Juna. ❤️❤️❤️

Drawing in the Soul was an excellent and very intense course. I enjoyed it very much and I learnt a lot. I am an absolute beginner in the field of portrait drawing. The study materials are very well stuctured, and Juna is an excellent artist and art teacher. She dedicated her time to this course and was ready to help any time. Juna’s feedbacks on our work are extremely useful and detailed. These feedbacks were the most valuable part of the course. Thanks, Juna!

Juna Biagioni is a talented artist and masterful teacher. In her class Drawing in the Soul she exceeded all my expectations. I was challenged, which is what I wanted, but because her feedback was so instructive and graciously delivered, I could understand how to quickly improve my art. She is the best online teacher I have come across and I am so grateful I got to be one of her students!
