Snakes

Snakes

This painting was inspired by the last painting I made, Ouroboros (ciao babbo). I like the symbol and meaning of the Ouroboros, the snake biting its tail, so I wanted to elaborate a little further on this topic. This double snake is a variant on the single Ouroboros and was also used as a symbol in ancient cultures.

Snakes, mixed media (acrylic paint and colored pencil) on canvas board.
Size: 24 x 30 cm (9.4 x 11.8 inch).

  1. Yes, the patterns on their skins are beautiful … and I have a sense of lightness and gentleness …

  2. They appear to be moving around in circles. I like that dynamism and also the pattern on their skins.
