Let's Face It

Let’s Face It is a year-long academic course devoted to studying portraits and figures. It is for anyone who wants to practice creating portraits and figurative art, and geared toward all levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced artists.

This will be the sixth year that I’m teaching in Let’s Face It and I can’t wait to get started again!

The focus of the course is on subjects of all ages, and both males & females. Academic areas of study include: understanding proportions, various portrait angles and poses, composition, color theory & tonal value, finding a likeness in your own work, loosening up in both your dry and wet mediums, and much more.

Every year the course has a different theme, and in 2021 we will be focusing on different forms of inspiration. That means that we will have lessons that focus on the same type of inspiration (such as music, books, nature, etc.) for a period of time. We will also work with a different portrait angle or pose each week, to keep you learning and interested.
