Yes! My work is selected for the Rembrandt exhibition in Rijksmuseum Amsterdam!

YES!!! I GOT THROUGH THE FINAL SELECTION!

I can hardly believe it, but today I received an email confirming that my charcoal drawing is selected for the summer exhibition “Long Live Rembrandt” (Lang Leve Rembrandt) in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam!

Over 8,390 artworks inspired by Rembrandt were sent in, and around 500 of them will now be shown in the exhibition. I sent in a charcoal portrait that I made last year, which was inspired by Rembrandt’s use of light and shadow. When I heard about the exhibition, I immediately knew I wanted to send in this drawing. If you know Rembrandts young self portraits, you will probably recognize the lighting effect, with the shadow over the eyes.

The exhibition runs July 15 – September 15. I’m so excited and honored to be part of this event and that my work will be exhibited in this renowned museum! If you’re in the area I hope you’ll go and have a look!
