I love working with charcoal! I’ve been trying out some new techniques and having a great time drawing again! 🙂

This portrait was made with charcoal on watercolor paper. The type of paper that you use for a charcoal portrait really makes a difference. This is rather smooth watercolor paper, but it still has a bit of tooth (texture). This texture shows in the portrait and I actually like that here. Click here for more info on the paper that I used.
