In this mini lesson we’re going to create a profile portrait working with pastel pencil.
This lesson was originally published as a mini lesson that I taught in Let’s Face It 2020. A mini lesson is a short, compact lesson, meant to focus on a specific aspect of the work.
So in this mini lesson we’re going to draw a profile portrait in a fairly intuitive way, without a lot of measuring. I’m showing you my drawing technique where I slowly build up the profile shape in such a way that it’s not totally fixed right away. That way I still have time in the early stages to easily change things, without having to do a lot of erasing. It’s a drawing technique that is quite fluid, especially in the early stages, and I really love working this way.
