In this mini lesson we’ll create a mixed media portrait using charcoal, india ink and more.

This lesson was originally published as a mini lesson that I taught in Let’s Face It 2021. A mini lesson is a short, compact lesson, meant to focus on a specific aspect of the work.

I was asked to create a frontal portrait and let myself be inspired by music or a band. As you’ll find out, my initial idea didn’t work for me so I decided to shift gears and take a completely different approach. And I love how this portrait turned out!
